Apartment VP 12

Residential interior + implementation

A remodel that invites light into the depth — and an interior tailored for tall stature.

In apartment VP 12, we did a major conceptual redesign of the otherwise long and narrow living room. The apartment is on the first floor and there was not enough light in the depth of the room.

More light and optical space

We removed the partition wall that formed a narrow and dark corridor and made the kitchen and dining area even narrower. Thus, we invited light into the depth, optically expanded the space and created the possibility of a large kitchen island. The functions of the hallway — shoe cabinets and clothing space — are taken over by wardrobes that run along the walls from floor to ceiling and create a feeling of paneling rather than individual pieces of furniture. Their doors are finished with fine battens, washable resistant wallpaper and ecru panels with a smooth and structured surface.

Tailor-made interior

Throughout the house, the door handles are comfortable and at the same time optically increase the height – fine black lines from the floor to the ceiling. Our clients are a much taller than average family, so all heights — countertops, bed, sinks, bar, dining table and chairs — are planned higher and tailored to the ergonomics and needs of the users. The realization of the project (three bedrooms, two bathrooms, cloakroom/wet room and shared living room with kitchen and dining room) took seven months to look like in the photos.
